How does a transformer oil degasser function?

A transformer oil degasser functions by heating the oil and passing it through a vacuum chamber. The low pressure in the vacuum chamber causes dissolved gases and moisture to evaporate. These vapors are removed from the system by vacuum pumps, leaving purified oil behind. The degassed oil is then recirculated into the transformer to restore its insulating properties.
