A transformer oil conservator is an expansion vessel that accommodates oil volume changes as temperature rises and falls. It helps keep the main tank full while reducing direct oil contact with atmospheric air, which limits moisture ingress and oxidation. When combined with a breather, it protects oil quality, stabilizes insulation conditions, and supports longer service life by reducing sludge and acid formation.
