FLD M Online Transformer Monitoring System
The FLD M system performs two functions (operates in two modes). The first function is remote online monitoring of critical transformer parameters. The second function is filtration and drying of transformer oil when its quality deteriorates. The second mode is activated automatically without operator intervention; the transition from the filtration and drying mode back to transformer parameter monitoring also occurs automatically.

Description
The FLD M system performs two functions (operates in two modes). The first function is remote online monitoring of critical transformer parameters. The second function is filtration and drying of transformer oil when its quality deteriorates. The second mode is activated automatically without operator intervention; the transition from the filtration and drying mode back to transformer parameter monitoring also occurs automatically.
Monitoring is achieved by connecting the FLD M system to the transformer, where it remains in constant proximity. The oil continuously circulates from the transformer through the system’s sensors and back into the transformer. Some parameters are measured using sensors, while others are calculated using specialized algorithms. The measured and calculated transformer parameters are then transmitted and stored in a dedicated web application, where they can be accessed from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.
The FLD M system enables the detection and monitoring of the following transformer parameters:
- oil temperature at the top and bottom of the transformer;
- water activity in the oil at the top and bottom of the transformer;
- ambient air temperature;
- relative humidity of the ambient air;
- moisture content in the oil at the top and bottom of the transformer;
- moisture content in the solid insulation of the transformer;
- dielectric strength of the oil;
- oil quality index;
- hydrogen content in the oil (optional).
Each parameter at any given time falls within a specific color-coded range: “Within normal limits” “Out of limits. Operator attention required,” and “Critical zone. Transformer’s work intervention required.” A parameter forecasting function is also available, allowing for advance planning of transformer maintenance and repairs.

Advantages
The FLD M system offers the following key advantages: low relative cost, compact size, a service life comparable to that of the transformer, a user-friendly web application, easy connection, and more comprehensive information with improved assessment of transformer condition dynamics compared to laboratory analyses.
-
Application
The FLD M can be used to monitor all transformers filled with transformer oil, regardless of their purpose or application (distribution and power transformers, mining transformers, traction transformers, marine transformers, wind power transformers, and others).
