How is breakdown voltage test of transformer oil performed?

Collect oil in a BDV test cell, set a 2.5 mm electrode gap, and increase voltage at 2 kV/s until arc. Fluidex testers automate this process and include safety shutdown. Oil should be tested before and after filtration.
