To perform a polarity test on a current transformer (CT), first, ensure the CT is de-energized and safely isolated. Connect a low-voltage AC source to the primary winding. Use a voltmeter or phase rotation meter on the secondary side. Measure the voltage; if the polarity is correct, the voltage will be in phase with the primary current. If the voltage is out of phase, the connections are reversed, indicating incorrect polarity. Always follow safety protocols during testing.
