Acceptable moisture content depends on voltage class, but for power transformers it is typically below 20-30 ppm in oil at operating temperature. Excess moisture reduces dielectric strength, accelerates paper insulation aging, and increases partial discharge risk, making moisture control a critical maintenance parameter.
