Oil manufacturers typically demonstrate compliance with insulating liquid standards and with general quality management requirements. For mineral oils, IEC standards and ASTM standards are commonly used for specification and test methods, and some countries use national standards. Manufacturers also provide SDS aligned with chemical safety regulations and transport rules. Utilities may require third party test reports, batch certificates, and proof of consistent production. IEEE documents often guide transformer operation and testing programs, while oil quality is more directly defined by IEC or ASTM specification and test procedures.
